Yeah, I’ve read everything of hers I can get my hands on. She has had a huge influence on my writing and on the way I look at immigration narratives. I even own the (good, but not even comparable!) movie. Have you seen that, too? I would recommend it.
I like writing, photography, reading, music, design, typography, paper products, days in the seventies and sparkly snow, Spanish wine and cans of PBR. I spent a year in Córdoba, Spain, working as a language and culture assistant through the Spanish government, traveling, and writing about it here. After a few years back in my home state of Montana, I moved to Austin, Texas, where I like to go exploring, take pictures of my food, write letters, dream of far-off places, and think about concepts of home.

Occasionally I use affiliate links (when I remember). If you click on and/or purchase from one of those links, I get a small kickback. By 2050, I might have enough to buy a book. Just full disclosure. Won't be quitting my day job.
Omigod! You like Zadie Smith too!
Oh, man! As I was about to hover over that glass of wine, I thought it was going to say “Bordeaux!” LOL.
Oh, and I also love Interpreter of Maladies. Have you read The Namesake?

Yes, I’ve also seen the film — a tearjerker.
