Back in business for day 2 of the Poppytalk Spring Colors Week. Today’s color? Yellow – I’m not sure there’s a more spring color, especially after so many months of gray, gray, gray.

I like writing, photography, reading, music, design, typography, paper products, days in the seventies and sparkly snow, Spanish wine and cans of PBR. I spent a year in Córdoba, Spain, working as a language and culture assistant through the Spanish government, traveling, and writing about it here. After a few years back in my home state of Montana, I moved to Austin, Texas, where I like to go exploring, take pictures of my food, write letters, dream of far-off places, and think about concepts of home.
Now that’s what I’m talkin’ about! Yellow immediately brightens up my day. Daffodils are in the grocery store, yellow rain coats are a mood lifter, and the buttery yellow of the pancakes makes one’s mouth water. The greens are fun – the yellows… happiness. It’s no accident that upbeat people have a “sunny outlook” on life.
