As I’ve said before, I love paper. Even when I was a kid, I could play with paper for hours – cutting, coloring, writing, whatever. I love the way it smells. The way it feels. What people can do with it (more paper artists coming tomorrow!). And so I am also a huge sucker for buying it, and various tools to play with it.
Between Blick Art Supplies in Seattle and the best coupons of the year this weekend at Michael’s…..well, I’ve been doing a little shopping.
After ogling Martha’s Punch around the Page for a while, I snapped one up for making Christmas tags and possibly cards.
and some labels…
A number of years ago, I was in San Francisco with my dad (getting my first Spanish visa) and I bought a carved stamp in Chinatown, like the little red stamps Chinese artists use to sign their work. The red ink is really hard to find, and the pan I bought leaked all over the place. I’m still on the hunt for more red. But in the meantime, I found silver!
a couple of Blanca Gómez cards made it into my cart:
plus some handmade papers, and a new carving block to try out:
And finally, since the Etsy shop run by the woman behind pugly pixel is closing down for a while, everything was super on sale.
I found a number of things I’ve been looking for for a while, including baker’s twine for Christmas wrapping, some tags, and glassine envelopes. I’m planning on consolidating all of my extra buttons into one little binder. (this is the kind of thing that makes me happy)
(plus a few Christmas presents I can’t reveal 🙂 )

Fun! I love the Martha punches! And, I bought quite a few things from pugly pixel as well. They arrived yesterday and are so great!
oooh…do tell. What made it into your cart?
(I think mine just shipped today)
[…] I mentioned yesterday, I’ve been drooling over a bit more paper art lately, from all over the internet. Thought […]
